Michael’s Chemist offers a range of vaccination services which are delivered by trained and accredited pharmacists, with over five years of vaccination administration experience. We offer our vaccination services both in-store and on-site at your location.

Michael’s Chemist offers vaccination services from three locations: Claremont, North Perth and Wembley. Our highly trained pharmacists are also to perform vaccinations on-site at your business/facility location. Our pharmacies are open up to 13 hours a day including weekends, meaning we have flexible appointment times available, including after hours, weekends, early morning and late afternoon.

 

Michael’s Chemist offers flu vaccinations for patients aged 10+. dTpa vaccinations offer protection from diptheria,tetanus and pertussis. MMR vaccinations are for protection against measles, mumps and rubella. Michael’s Chemist can also administer a vaccination for meningococcal. The Course in Conduct Immunisation Services within a Community Pharmacy Environment is a course that is nationally recognised under the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

Benefits:

Offers protection against 4 strains of influenza virus. Recommended to be administered around late April/May for optimum protection in flu season.

  • Who needs this vaccine:
  • Anyone who wants to reduce their risk of catching influenza and minimise the spread of influenza.
  • Healthcare workers.
  • Asthmatics.
  • People over 65 years old
  • People living with those who have compromised immune systems

Brands available:

Boostrix (PFS) (preservative free).

Benefits: Protects against Diphtheria (mainly causes breathing issues and toxin frombacteria can cause nerve damage and heart problems), tetanus (lockjaw) and pertussis (whooping cough).

  • Who needs this vaccine:
  • Healthcare or childcare workers- every 10 years
  • Travellers- every 10 years
  • Every 5 years if entering a high risk area
  • Over 65 years
  • Adults coming into contact with infants (under 6 months old)

Brands available: Priorix (Vial)

Benefits: Protects against measles, mumps and rubella virus which can be spread by airborne droplets or saliva.



  • Who needs this vaccine:
  • Adults and adolescents who are born after 1966 who haven’t previously had the vaccine.

Menveo (PFS)

Nimenrix (PFS) (preservative free).

Benefits: Protects against the A,C,W and Y strains of the meningococcal bacteria. Meningococcal is an infection of the brain and spinal cord coverings.

  • People travelling to high risk areas.
  • Adolescents and young adults (aged 15–24 years) who live in ‘closequarters’ include new military recruits and students living in residential accommodation.
  • Adolescents and young adults (aged 15–24 years) who are current smokers.

Our Vaccination Process

Our vaccinations are administered in private consultation rooms with extensive hygiene and santisation practices. We keep staff trained in first aid on site at all times during vaccinations.
